About Me.......
I live with my wife and youngest daughter in the city of Anderson, SC which is on Lake Hartwell in the far western corner of the state off of I-85 and just north of the Georgia state line. Our other interests include Boston Terriers, fine dining, yard sales and enjoying the beautiful upstate of South Carolina, the land of mountains and lakes. Our area IS the inspiration for…. “Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina…..”

My Amateur Radio Interests
Well, there’s not much to it really, I run a Kenwood TS-570D(g) for HF, where my interests include 60m SSB and BPSK31 on 40, 30, 20 and 17 meters. I dabble a bit with CW and enjoy building my own antennas. I have just built a super duty home brew version of the Carolina Windom 80 Special which includes 12g wire for the flat top, 2kw rated 4:1 balun and 1:1 feedline isolator and a 22 foot vertical radiator and it is up about 50 feet.
For VHF/UHF I use Motorola Astro gear which is all analog and P25 digital capable. I live on a creek bank that feeds Lake Hartwell, so, due to my very low altitude, I tend to concentrate my efforts on HF mostly.
